ANTERIOR haben bekannt gegeben, dass sie sich nach einem letzten Gig in London am 2. März 2012 auflösen werden. Die Waliser Band brachte auf Metal Blade zwei Alben namens „This Age Of Silence“ (2007) und „Echoes Of The Fallen“ (2011) heraus.

Seit dem letzten Streich WORLD PAINTED BLOOD ist bereits einige Zeit ins Land gezogen – doch nun sind SLAYER bereit für den nächsten Thrash-Schlag. Das Songwriting für ein neues Album läuft schon auf Hochtouren, verrät Gitarrist Kerry King.

Derzeit legen SLAYER zwar eine Schreibpause ein, drei neue Songs haben Kerry King und Schlagzeiger Dave Lombardo aber bereits ausgearbeitet. Drei weitere Nummern sollen stehen, wenn die Band sich wieder zusammenfindet.

Tatsächlich sind SLAYER ihrem Zeitplan sogar voraus. In den nächsten Wochen sollen die Aufnahmen beginnen. Wenn es nach Kerry King geht, könnte der WORLD PAINTED BLOOD-Nachfolger schon diesen Sommer kommen, unklar sei nur, ob die Plattenfirma da mitspielt.

Auch Gitarrist Jeff Hanneman schreibt neues Material für das kommende Album. Laut Kerry King ist er von seiner Infektion durch einen Spinnenbiss immer noch angeschlagen, erholt sich aber zusehends.

Schließlich verspricht Kerry King: „Die Songs kommen im klassischen SLAYER-Stil daher. Ihr werdet ganz sicher keinen Akustik-Kram von uns zu hören bekommen.“

1959 - Begräbnisfeier für BUDDY HOLLY in der Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lubbock/Texas, später wurde er auf dem Friedhof der Stadt beigesetzt. Einer der Sargträger war sein bester Kumpel Phil Everly von den Everly Brothers.

1961 - PETE SEEGER unterschrieb einen Vertrag bei Columbia Records. Die erste Scheibe für das neue Label war "Story Songs" im selben Jahr.

1964 - Triumphale Ankunft der BEATLES in New York - einen Tag später begann ihre erste US-Tour.

1979 - STEPHEN STILLS (Foto) war der erste Rockmusiker, der auf komplett digitalem Equipment im legendären Record Plant Studio in Los Angeles aufnehmen durfte. Das Album wurde allerdings nie veröffentlicht.

1986 - Die ROLLING STONES drehten ihren Clip zum Song Harlem Shuffle, der Authentizität halber in NYCs Stadtteil Harlem.
